Here is the site concept for Happy Paws Pet Sitting & Dog Walking. Sam wanted a simple clean site that said everything she needed to say in a few pages. To add in a few morsels for the search engines, I put in the javascript slider on the homepage to put in a bit more content without cluttering up the layout.  The finished product was a fun departure from the in depth plugging away of a content managed site. If anyone needs a great pet sitter, give them a call!

Muscle Car Auctions Inc.

This is a quick turnaround on a site for the clients that needed the Muscle Car Auctions logo designed. They had a car show they needed to hand out some flyers for with a web address and this is the resulting CSS driven splash page. A full blown site is in progress with these guys offereing up Muscle Car Auctions in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The first event is in September and is booking up quick. Check it out.

Client Testimonials

Hey...I realize this website seems like an exercise in narcissism. Trust me, it's no fun having to toot your own horn, but such is life when it comes to the shameless world of self promotion. With that, I've asked a few friends and clients (I'll let you sort out which is which) to offer up a few words about their experience with the Kris Julian studio.  Out of privacy issues, a few names and titles have been omitted, but all in all, I'm thankful for their glowing reports.

Kris Julian is a great collaborator with you as the customer - if you have an idea, he can constructively build upon it; if you don't have any ideas, he can start from the ground floor. His customer service is excellent, and I was always pleased with the end product.

Everyone who has used my web site says how easy to use it is as well as how beautiful it is in appearance.

Kris did a wonderful job on our business logo and in fact we hired him to design all our stationary as well as our business brochure and post cards. He did an excellent job and we were impressed at the speed in which he was able to get things done. We showed his work to several other physicians and they are now contemplating their own brochures. Kris is very professional and I would recommend him to any other business. We will definitely be using his services in the future!

Kris Julian helped redesign The Randolph Arts Guild's website. He is amazingly skilled at solving complex design problems with intuitive yet visually stunning solutions. On top of that his attention to detail is unparalleled.

My experience with the Kris Design Studio has been nothing but positive. His timely delivery of designs as well as his commitment to customer satisfaction make it easy to work with him, and trust him with such an important component of communication and marketing today.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Kris for several years now. He’s both creative and talented. I always feel like he’s able to get to the heart of what I want to express and put it on a page (or screen). On the rare occasion when there’s been a problem with our web site, he’s responded quickly and followed through completely to get things up and running right away.

The Kris Julian studio has been a vital part to our website maintenance and design. The service is top notch and our needs are always met. Thanks for your help in making our company stronger!

The Affordable Web

The Affordable web is a website concept where many quality online bargains cna be gathered together under one roof. Though still in it's early stages, I thought the logo was strong enough to go ahead and put in my portfolio. So here it is.

Banner Kats

Another business idea from my last company, MainSales. BannerKats was a side business we used to sell printed banners online to keep our wide-format printer churning. It generated a bit of buzz, but was eventually shut down as it didn't really turn a profit once you factored in shipping (and other companies were doing it cheaper than we could buy it). The logo itself was based off an audo installation business name Kat Audio that contracted MDI to produce a logo. I created this icon and showed it to them. They went off to discuss amongst themselves and I never saw them again. Not one to waste a decent design, I revamped it for use on Banner Kats. Still not wanting to trash it completely, it has found a home here in my portfolio. Meow.

Slot Car Racing Company

This ones a little bittersweet. I developed the logo for a client who initally wanted to revamp their look and website and bring it kicking and screaming into the 20th century (not a typo). After much back and forth, mis-communication and indecision, we decided to go separate ways and he kept his toys and I kept mine. I still thought it was a pretty fresh logo in that it was for a company that supplied gears for slot car racing.

The Great American

The Great American Entertainment & Events Center was a concert hall setup in an old Western Store retail space between Asheboro and Randleman. The owners had some lofty ideas and great plans for the space which, unfortunately, never really came to fruition as overhead, attendance and other issues drove it to close down a few years ago. This is the final version of the log I developed for the center - patriotic yet playful. I've also included an additional logo comp and brochure panels in the Additional Images below.

Main-Trade

Now we get to the portion of out program where we look out over the ideas that had potential, but ended up crashing in an epic ball of fire...well, maybe not that bad.  Main-Trade was an idea at my previous business, MainSales, where we would create a community website that basically had everything for a community under one roof.  This was towards the beginning of these types of sites poppiing up and we how some were doing it and thought we could do it better. Graphically, everything worked great through two iterations of the site (one we generated and one we paid a handsome sum to have coded for us). We were beginning to drum up interest for the site when we got slammed with business from people who didn't know we were there as MainSales - good thing for MainSales, bad thing for Main-Trade. Basically, all the hard work we poured into MT basicall got pushed aside and it died a slow quiet death...but I think the graphics are pretty sweet!

You see the Main-Trade badge at left, and below in the additional images you'll find a horizontal logo, a screen shot of the original site and two characters I illustrated for the printed newsletter we were going to couple with the website (see...I'm telling you, we had some awesome intentions with this thing): Main-trade Joe (modeled after a former employee) and Hyphen-Guy* (modeled after no one in particular...maybe the Tick from the comic series).

*Hyphen Guys was in response to the need for people to be sure to remember to type in the hyphen after "Main" and before "Trade"...otherwise they went to a blank site which we did not own.

Sea Oak Villas

Sea Oak Villas was a high end condo complex in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I generated the logo, site "Coming Soon" signage, promotional brochure and website to blanket the market to facilitate the sale of the units.  Unfortunately, this project was started when the real estate bubble burst and I think it has been place on indefinite hold.  I added in a shot of the website (now-non-functional), the site signage, pages from the promotional brochure and a shot of a sister site (North Myrtle Beach Duplex) in the additional images below.
